If your placement tests scores show the need for further development and improvement, you will be instructed to take specific remedial courses. Depending on the scores, the level of the remedial course will be designated.
For English and French, there are three levels of remedial courses. Each one represents a level of ability to articulate linguistic skills associated with identified learning outcomes. For Math and Arabic, there is just one level of remedial study to meet the prerequisite requirements for courses of the selected major.
The distribution of the MU remedial courses per levels is as follows:
|ENG 000||FRN 000||MAT 200||ARB 100|
|ENG 050||FRN 050|
|ENG 100||FRN 100|
Important Note: Some of the validated and accredited language-related tests that students may have already sat for outside the University can qualify for an exemption.
These are as follows:
- MEPT Exemption: TOEFL (specific score is required)
- MEPT Exemption: IELTS with a minimum overall band of 5.5
- MFPT Exemption: DELFB 2
