Each of these resources adds value to the organization of refinement of understanding of the students about the field of study. The learning resources can be summarized as follows:
Course Guides (Syllabus):
An indispensable resource that provides you with a breakdown of the semester, indicating week by week delivery of lecture and seminar topics, coursework requirements, as well as suggested primary and secondary reading lists.
Typically, the Course Guides (Syllabi) also provide a list of all study materials in light of the context of the course in question. Course instructor distribute the Course Guide (Syllabus) in the first week of teaching. The Syllabus should provide a final statement on the course content and structure as well as how the course is assessed in any given year. If there is a discrepancy in between Course Guide and any other source, the statement of terms in the Course Guide must be accounted as the final source.
Set Textbooks:
Typically, you should expect your Course Instructor to have identified for you in the Course Guide one or two textbooks that you need to purchase. Most of them are available directly or indirectly through the publishers who the University has collaborated with them. For further information about the time and place of purchasing the set textbooks, you should contact the Faculty Assistant.
Course Readers:
In addition to the ‘Set Texts’, the courses will include extensive use of journal articles, book chapters, and extracts which may not be available in copies at the library. To make these available to all students on the course, the Course Instructor will compile for you a number of photocopied materials as suited for the purpose of the learning objectives.
Student Timetables:
The MU-UMS, as well as University's Google Calendar, should have an uploaded and updated program timetable for each semester. If it happens that you need further assistance about the timetables, you should speak to a member of the Faculty, Faculty Assistant, Chair of Program, Course Coordinator or Course Instructors.
