Coursework and Projects
Students are expected to manage wisely and timely their time in order to meet deadlines as published in the Course Guide (Syllabus). The course deadlines are strictly allocated for each semester as registered in the academic calendar.
Unless governed by ‘extenuating circumstances’, assignments in the form of coursework will not be accepted after the published deadlines. In these circumstances, a mark of zero (and non-submission) will be granted for the submission in question.
For some assessment, and in case that electronic submission is not available, you should hand in the coursework at the Faculty Assistant. You should complete the appropriate sheet for the submitted work. All work submitted electronically should be by 11:59 pm or by hand to Faculty Assistant to 3 pm on the day of submission.
The date of submission of all assignments is recorded manually or electronically through Classroom or MU-UMS, depending on the method of submission.
The Faculty will not accept coursework assignments sent by email, never hand in or send your assignment directly to a member of the academic staff.
Assessment: what happens if I don’t pass a course the first time?
It is of great importance that you get familiar with the MU policy of assessment. You should take notice of the details and measure your assessment performance in line with the policy adopted by the University, regardless of policies endorsed by other higher educational establishments. This policy is developed to ensure fairness and high standards. Understanding the assessment rules and guidelines is primarily your responsibility in managing your learning and therefore meeting your learning targets.
What are extenuating Circumstances?
Extenuating Circumstances are those which prevent a student from attending for assessment or from submitting assessed or reassessed work by the scheduled date. Such unforeseeable event, (s) when a student can do not- ing reasonably in their power, can be accounted as a situation that has a serious impact and is unpreventable, given that the student provides evidence about it. It should be noted that students are expected to make reasonable plans to take into account the possibility of such occurrences and therefore take the appropriate measure to overcome such challenges.
