Assessment Principles
Assessment Principles
The University is operating under a robust code of practice to ensure that students are assessed fairly:
● All instructors prepare a detailed solution scheme to the formal exams, therefore, student's work marking is precise and accurate.
● All coursework contributing towards your degree is taken into consideration and marked fairly according to the University standardized assessment scheme.
Assessment: what happens if I don’t pass a course the first time?
It is of great importance that you get familiar with the MU policy of assessment. You should take notice of the details and measure your assessment performance in line with the policy adopted by the University, regardless of policies endorsed by other higher educational establishments. This policy is developed to ensure fairness and high standards. Understanding the assessment rules and guidelines is primarily your responsibility in managing your learning and therefore meeting your learning targets.
What are extenuating Circumstances?
Extenuating Circumstances are those which prevent a student from attending for assessment or from submitting assessed or reassessed work by the scheduled date. Such unforeseeable event, (s) when a student can do noting reasonably in their power, can be accounted as a situation that has a serious impact and is unpreventable, given that the student provides evidence about it. It should be noted that students are expected to make reasonable plans to take into account the possibility of such occurrences and therefore take the appropriate measure to overcome such challenges.
