Governance Framework
Al Maaref University is committed to good governance practices and principles.
Our approach to good governance is holistic and inclusive so to fully discharge our duties and accountability to our various stakeholders and to society as a whole, and act in a socially responsible manner in all areas of our academic and research activities.
Inspired by the University vision and mission and capitalizing on the Governance Screening Card V.2.0 (2015), an initiative lead by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education and World Bank, MU’s governance model incorporates the following dimensions:
- Strategic planning
- Evidence-based management decisions
- Academic and administrative autonomy
- Accountability
- Participation
At the heart of MU’s good governance is the unswerving adherence to Education Quality Assurance and Academic Integrity. MU’s Bylaws endorse a comprehensive quality assurance management framework with clearly identified principles and objectives based on local and international quality assurance standards, guidelines and practices.
The main pillars of this framework are clarity and stability of educational mission, vision, and objectives, commitment to continuous improvement, utilization of robust processes and evaluation methods, visionary and ethical leadership, contribution to social responsibility and ethical conduct, learner-centered approach promotion and stimulation of excellence and innovation.
Good governance represents a forefront strategic priority for MU’s Board of Trustees and Senior Management. As a tertiary education institution, we operate within a diverse local, regional and global context and seek accreditation and affiliation with other institutions of higher education and learning in line with the above-mentioned frameworks of governance and quality assurance.
