Faculty of Business Administration Participates in the Annual Fraud Conference, 2018.

The Faculty of Business Administration attended the 2018, Fraud Conference, represented by the Dean’s Assistant Dr Ali El Dirani, and Dr Hassan Rkein. The conference was held under the patronage of the Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh represented by the First Deputy Governor, Mr Raed Sharaf al-Din, 7-8 February, 2018, Beirut, Phoenicia Hotel.

It is the second year in a row that the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Lebanon Chapter, organizes the conference. It is also deemed to be leading in the area of fraud examination.

 

The conference was attended by a large number of business people, government officials, representatives of the civil society, trade and labor unions, academics, as well as representatives of banks and international non-governmental organizations and individuals concerned with the fight against financial fraud and embezzlement.

The conference aims at raising awareness about the impact of unethical behavior, and the financial and economic risks of fraud and embezzlement. Local and international participants in the conference has shed the light on the different available approaches of combating fraud and embezzlement. Presenters also shared with participants real examples of fraud cases and how they were dealt with.


Dr El Dirani and Dr Rkein, met with a large number of participants at the conference, and discussed in great details the significance of such event and exchanged ideas and opinions with the President of ACFE Lebanon chapter, Dr Hussein Tarraf and members of the association.

They also agreed with Dr Tarraf on holding a seminar at Al Maaref University premises to raise such an important subject.
