Role:
Clinical staff are required to perform direct supervision for undergraduate nursing students in clinical areas and provide them with theoretical and clinical skills to be integrated into real-life situations. They enhance the student’s capability of problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and ethical judgment to perform professionally in the nursing field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' attendance and absenteeism.
- Assess students’ uniforms, hygiene, university cards, and clinical tools.
- Orient students to the floor.
- Orient student to patient file
- Share the student's round and assessment.
- Ask the student to select a patient case study.
- Ask the student to prepare for the selected procedure.
- Assess and assist students in a specific act.
- Gather graded weekly evaluations (theory and practice).
- Reward strong points and follow up on weak points with students.
- Follow up on the student's behavior and attitude.
- Motivate students to take initiative in their work.
- Submit to the coordinator weekly reports and complaints.
- Fill out the students' evaluation sheet completely.
- Collaborate in the final evaluation exam effectively.
- Submit to the coordinator the final evaluation grades on time.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings and clinical activities.
- Communicate graciously with students.
- Provide students with assistive clinical materials.
- Prepare students for the employment period.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in nursing with 3 years of experience within the clinical specialist area
- An attitude and ability to motivate students and deal with different learning and practical challenges
- Excellent English communication skills
- Enthusiasm, openness for self-development, and embracement of new teaching methods
- Flexibility in undertaking additional duties when required by the faculty
