Role:
Instructors are required to teach undergraduate (UG) level courses and provide students with real-life application cases to boost their problem-solving, critical thinking, and ethical judgment skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures to undergraduate students according to the faculty’s mission, vision, values, and learning strategy, and contribute back to them.
- Improve teaching performance regularly using a self-reflection approach and drawing on continuous students’ feedback.
- Initiate and facilitate extracurricular activities such as field trips, class visits, etc. to enhance students’ experience, engagement, and competency and build collaboration networks within the industry and community.
- Communicate with students through e-learning platforms such as Google G Suite, WileyPlus, Pearson MyLab and Mastering, McGraw-Hill Connect, etc. to contribute to the blended education and/or e-learning practices at the faculty.
- Contribute to the wider students’ experience through personal tutoring and classroom teaching, and provide support in and outside the classroom.
- Participate in interactive online teaching assignments once needed and undertake the necessary training offered by the faculty.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings and academic and social activities/events to enhance engagement and make valuable contributions.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field by the time of appointment
- An established teaching experience record at the higher education level
- An attitude and ability to motivate students and deal with different learning and practical challenges
- An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teaching
- Excellent English communication skills
- Enthusiasm and openness for self-development and embracement of new teaching methods
- Flexibility in undertaking additional duties when required by the faculty
