Importance of Providing an Exceptional Model of Student Life
Sponsored by the Youth and Sports Minister, Mr Mohamad Fnesh, Al Maaref University launched five new clubs for students on Tuesday 25th April 2017.
The five clubs were: Culture and Dialogue Club (Al Minbar), Sports Club, Reading Club (Noon), Social Services Club (Besmeh), and Female Students Club (Ra’edah).
Launching the students clubs took place in the presence of large numbers of stakeholders, notable community members, cultural, social and media representatives
The inauguration event involved a welcome speech from the Director of the Student Affairs, Mr Hussein Nasser who confirmed that “the Students Affairs Directorate felt the obligation of launching the five students' clubs due to their importance in building the educational and social expertise among the students”. Along the same line, the Minister Mohamad Fneish clarified “ this gathering represents a significant evidence that the university in its second year of operation has practised its role in the right direction”. He considered that” the establishment of the University represents a huge challenge for those who are supervising and working in it to provide an exceptional and different model, and thus justifies its necessity and legitimacy”.
Minister Fneish mentioned that “ launching the students clubs confirms the awareness and preparedness of university staff, managers and employees, to embrace the challenge of establishing the distinguishing character of the university and its students” and also pointed out that “ the clubs' activities are exceptional as they enable students not only to receive information but also to live the social issues and affairs and both of these are of great importance”.
At the end of the event, the audiences participated in the opening of the sports playground that is located in the vicinity of the university campus.
