What you will study and when
The majors are part of a modular degree program that contains a combination of courses leading to gain 99 credits as a pre-condition for obtaining a first degree and a student becomes a graduate. A student registered for a full-time attendance mode will take approximately 33 credits per year. An accredited and validated degree student will complete courses totaling 21 credits for General Education Requirements at level one, courses totaling 33 credits for core requirements at levels 1 and 2 and courses totaling 30 credits for major requirements at levels 2 and 3 as well as courses totaling 9 credits for free liberal arts at levels 1 & 2. As for technical electives, you can chose two courses of a total value of 6 credits at level 3.
It is possible to bring together elective courses from one field with elective courses from another (depending on availability in a semester) to produce a major that has an emphasis on a particular specialism and interest.
It is expected for each student seeking a validated degree to have a cumulative total of 99 credits over a minimum of 3 years of full-time study. The study period for a degree should meet a combination of different types of requirements that carry on different numbers of credits. The requirements are reflective of different levels of achievement objectives and outcomes. Some of them are common to all faculties in the university; whilst others are more specific to the major. These include some technical electives as well. All students are expected to have Free Liberal Arts Electives that contribute to fostering an integrative understanding and practice much needed in a professional environment. These Electives are selected from any of the optional courses offered by either of the other faculties per semester.
