Diversified Avenues of Learning
A central feature of the learning environment at MU is engagement. It is one of the necessary values at the university.
Students are exposed to a range of learning activities that involves stand-alone or combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, professional interviews, field visitations, personal tutorials, individual and group supervision of projects, study support groups and technical support.
Students are also expected to participate in events that are related or associated with their field of study at the Faculty.
As part of a learning policy adopted by the university, "professional networking", students shall participate in external visits, network opportunities, and expert guest speaker’s events.
The teaching year is divided into three semesters; Fall, Spring and Summer. Each semester consists of 15 weeks; 13 weeks of teaching contact hours and two weeks of reading and exams.
The academic year begins in late September and ends at the end of June, but in some Majors, you are allowed to join at the start of Semester B (Spring), in February.
A typical student, in full-time attendance mode of study, shall register for 33 credits in an academic year; in effect covering an average of 10-12 courses per annum.
A part-time student, however, may register for up to 24 credits in any academic year.
The Faculty of Business Administration in agreement with the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts, have decided to extend its students' range of opportunities by having access to the state-of-art production and post-production facilities and equipment in the multimedia Integrated Platform (MIP) Center. This initiative may help those business students who would like to have elective courses in media studies or their capstone project has an element of media production about business operations, functions and organizational behavior. The facilities available include video, audio and text editing lab, 200 seat conference/theatre room, and audio-visual studio, radio enabled soundproofed control room and Montage control room.
To support the student learning journey inside and outside the university premises, the Faculty, in collaboration with other faculties, have resourced the newly built library with the primary and up-to-date textbooks for immediate use during their three years of study, supported by an array of printed and online/digital library facilities.
